Schools on reservation lands are turning to solar and wind power to both power classrooms and provide some teaching tools. At the Moencopi Day School, on the Hopi reservation near Tuba City, solar panels have been installed to heat and cool the greenhouse.

Emergency crews had to make a rescue from an eastern Arizona lake yesterday. Two teenagers were out on Fool Hollow Lake late Wednesday, on the north edge of the city of Show Low. The lake’s frozen over, but the ice underneath them began to crack.
