State House candidates residency questioned

 Prop. 204 seeks to make one-cent sales tax permanent
Proposition 204 on the November ballot gives voters the chance to make a one-cent sales tax increase that went into effect in 2010 permanent. Supporters say the extra money is needed to help education, but opponents argue additional funding will not fix the problems.

City of Glendale warns of drastic budget cuts
The City of Glendale is threatening up to 20 million dollars in cuts if voters approve a ballot initiative that would roll back a tax hike.  Earlier this year, the Glendale City Council approved a point-7 percent sales tax increase to make up for an ongoing budget shortfall.

NHL games canceled through November
More bad news for the Phoenix Coyotes. The NHL is ready to cancel games through the end of November. Meantime, the Coyotes continue to be owned by the League, with prospective owner Greg Jamieson unable to close the deal, because of the player lockout and efforts by the City of Glendale to rework its 20-year, $324 million deal with him.
