Between Tariffs And Trade Wars, Arizona Leaders Continue Building Business Connections

Trade missions are nothing new for economic development in Arizona, with delegations heading to other states or nations in an attempt to attract more tourists or businesses to move here.

But a relatively new factor that could increase the chances for conflict was introduced by President Trump: threats of tariffs and trade wars with close allies like Canada and Mexico.

It’s in that environment that a 20-plus member Maricopa Association of Governments’ group went on a three-day trade mission to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Jackie Meck is mayor of Buckeye and MAG’s Economic Development Committee chair, and joined The Show to talk about the trip.
