A two-year-old boy is dead, after what appears to have been a tragic accident on a narrow dirt road in Cave Creek. 

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Brandon Jones said it happened as a recycling truck from Waste Management was making its rounds.

“While it was backing down that road, it unfortunately struck this 2-year-old child and killed him," Jones said.

Jones said deputies are still trying to determine exactly what happened but that they do not suspect the truck driver was impaired.
