Earlier this session, GOP Arizona Sen. Heather Carter introduced a bill that would create a new tuition level at Arizona’s public universities, for so-called "DREAMers" and other students who do not qualify for in-state tuition, but have graduated from Arizona high schools.

Speaking on The Show, she said she wants to ensure Arizona high school grads can afford to go to college.

“The goal of this bill is to attract and retain Arizona graduates back to Arizona to continue their Arizona education in our community colleges and university system,” she said

But now, it looks like that bill is dead.

House Speaker Rusty Bowers has said he will not allow the proposal to be heard in the chamber.

For more on this, The Show was joined by Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.
