The quest for civil discussion — disagreeing without being disagreeable, as the old saying goes — is an ongoing effort.

And one that a lot of people believe has been made more difficult because of the current administration and barbs that are tossed around on social media.

On The Show, we’ve featured conversations with liberal and conservative thinkers like Cornel West, Jonah Goldberg, Ross Douthat and Mark Lilla.

They’ve come to the Valley to speak at the invitation of ASU’s School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership.

To talk about why the school has gone in that direction — to present a series on polarization and civil disagreement — The Show reached out to the school’s director, Paul Carrese.
