Fifty years ago, the concept of zombies shambled into popular culture — combining a dystopian future with brain-eating monsters — in "Night of the Living Dead."
Since then, we’ve seen "Walking Dead" become one of TV’s most popular programs, and there are even some humorous takes on zombies.
So how popular is the zombie concept now and how does it relate to our real fears?
To talk about that, The Show spoke with Karen Renner, assistant professor in the English Department at Northern Arizona University.
