Republican Gov. Doug Ducey and Democratic candidate David Garcia faced off in another televised debate Tuesday night.

During their first face off in Phoenix on Monday, Ducey and Garcia wrangled over border and education policies, with Garcia complaining about attack ads he characterized as "bigoted." The second debate is Tuesday in Tucson.

The debate was moderated by KJZZ's Steve Goldstein, Arizona Public Media's Lorraine Rivera and Christopher Conover, and Joe Ferguson of the Arizona Daily Star.

Gov. Ducey found himself defending his school safety plan against Garcia.

Ducey talked about his school safety plan, which consists of taking guns from people who are a danger to others, as well as adding armed police to serve as school resource officers. While that sounds promising on paper, his plan went nowhere during the last legislative session.

Ducey said his opponent wants to remove resource officer. Garcia said while he’s against more weapons on campus.

“What we need are more eyes and ears, more guidance counselors, more opportunities for our young people to go to. We have one of the highest students-to-guidance-counselors ratio in the country," said Garcia.

Ducey and Garcia also sparred over the economy and President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall.
