The historic Edison-Eastlake neighborhood in Phoenix has been given a $30 million grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The six-year grant is intended to revitalize the community while maintaining affordable housing. The transformation will include the tearing down of 577 public housing units.
