Wyoming’s Game and Fish Commission has decided the time is right to allow grizzly hunting. This fall, it will be legal for the bears to be shot for sport on public and private lands just beyond Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.

There will be tight restrictions on how many grizzlies can be killed — and those in favor of the hunting say that science supports the move. But there is also considerable consternation related to the commission’s approval.

Brian Nesvik, chief game warden for Wyoming Game and Fish, joined The Show to explain the decision.
