Sessions Sets Case Quotas For Immigrant Court Judges

Attorney General Jeff Sessions introduced new methods for immigration judges he says will help speed up the process and reduce the almost 700,000 backlogged cases the court currently has.

These methods actually set annual case quotas, requiring judges to complete 700 cases per year and resolve them quickly.

The Show spoke to Immigration Judge Lawrence Berman, who is allowed to speak on the record to KJZZ in his capacity as secretary treasurer of the National Association of Immigration Judges and not as an official of the Department of Justice.
