The Department of Education under President Trump has decided it’s going to reject transgender student bathroom complaints.

The department said it had been considering what to do for nearly a year, but this is the first time there’s been a formal, public position announced. Legal disputes have arisen because of potential contradictions with the 1972 federal civil rights law, Title IX.
