Proteins serve a lot of functions in our bodies, from building and repairing tissue to making body chemicals.
Now, scientists have figured out how to create brand new proteins from scratch to serve any function they want.
David Baker is one of those scientists. Baker is a professor of biochemistry at the University of Washington and director of the Institute for Protein Design there.
