The parties in a lawsuit over workplace raids by former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio have reached a settlement.

Under the terms of the settlement the former sheriff’s tactics have been ruled unconstitutional and will not be appealed by the county.

The plaintiffs said Arpaio conducted more than 80 workplace raids between 2007 and 2015 leading to the arrest of more than 800 people.

The former sheriff relied on identity theft laws to carry out the raids.

The county has already paid out a million dollars in the case. The settlement tacks on another million dollars for attorney fees and costs for the plaintiffs.
