Multiple groups took the podium during the Jan. 8, 2018, rally, including organizations focusing on women's reproductive rights.

Dozens of social justice advocacy groups in Arizona gathered at the Arizona Capitol on Monday morning to demand that more minority issues get to a full vote in the Legislature.

A wide range of groups took the podium at the rally including Planned Parenthood, Equality Arizona, and the Arizona Coalition to end Sexual and Domestic Violence.

The event was organized by a group known as Fortitude, Arizona. Founder, Tory Roberg, said she organized the event because she’s tired of seeing bills addressing minority issues die in committee.

"We wanted to create a rally where we could bring all these groups together to say we’re united and we want you to hear us," said Roberg. "All we ask for is to have our bills heard in committee to have good vote taken on these bills, but they get shelved every year."

The event was timed with the beginning of the Arizona legislative session, which officially kicked off Monday afternoon.
