Government Shutdown Looms As Congress Considers Pushing Decisions To 2018

Will they or won’t they?

That’s the question floating on Capitol Hill on Thursday as the Friday, Dec. 22, deadline looms for Congress to fund federal agencies with a budget, or face a government shutdown.

Demands have been made on both sides of the aisle: pass a DACA bill, shore up health care markets, fund CHIP — but as Friday nears, it looks like some of those lines in the sand are blowing away, and the next best option might be for Congress to punt funding decisions into 2018.
