Orange Juice And Wine Prices Expected To Rise
Wine and orange juice prices are expected to rise after multiple hurricanes slammed the East Coast and wildfires scorched northern California.
Julie Murphree with the Arizona Farm Bureau said market orange juice prices have already increased by more than 10 percent to $3 per half gallon due to weather and disease.
“We’ve been told that there’s two things,” Murphree said. “Yes, the hurricanes. And number two, Florida is being hit really hard with what they call that greening disease.”
The Arizona Wine Growers Association has also noted that California wine prices are expected to increase as wildfires in the area destroyed vineyards.
"The smoke can taint the wine juice if there's a fire nearby, right before harvest," said Brian Predmore, President of the Arizona Wine Growers Association.
