Amazon To Hire 1,000 Employees In Phoenix Area
While Phoenix and five other Valley municipalities vie to become Amazon’s second headquarters, the company is hiring about a thousand employees before the end of the year to service two metro facilities.
According to Lisa Guinn, spokeswoman for Amazon, “In the Phoenix area, we have about a thousand jobs between two fulfilment center areas that we’re opening. One is actually a renovated site. One is a new site. These new jobs will be associates that can help us to pick, pack and ship customer orders out to the Phoenix area and beyond.”
Guinn says it’s necessary to increase Amazon’s workforce in time for the holiday season. No date has been released to announce which city will serve as Amazon’s second headquarters.
