On Friday on The Show, we talked about so-called "checkout charity" from a sociological standpoint. That’s when a keypad at the grocery store or a restaurant gives us the chance to make a charitable donation to help support any number of causes.
Emily Barman, associate professor in Boston University’s Department of Sociology, explained why we give in those situations.
