Visit to KJZZ's Mexico City Bureau
December 6-11, 2016
Five KJZZ Travel Club members spent an extended weekend in Mexico City getting a deeper understanding of why KJZZ decided to become the first-ever local NPR member station to open an international news bureau.
They spent much of their time in the Mexican capital attending informative and engaging seminars about the connections between Arizona and Mexico not only from KJZZ reporters Rodrigo Cervantes and Jorge Valencia but also from university professors and business leaders.
But these travelers also enjoyed the cultural offerings of like Mexico City. In between meals where the country’s fabulous cuisine shined through, they explored two world-class museums and learned how to cook some of the country’s emblematic dishes.
