The Department of Justice is moving toward a return to the so-called "War on Drugs" as Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants to restore a more aggressive approach to drug sales and use in the U.S.

This comes at a time when battles among Mexico’s drug cartels are intensifying. How is U.S. demand for drugs affecting that? Can Mexico’s government do more to crack down on cartels?

With me to talk about that is Vanda Felbab-Brown, Senior Foreign Policy Fellow at the Brookings Institution. She is also author of the soon-to-be published book, "Narco Noir: Mexico’s Cartels, Cops and Corruption."
