Stephen Lemons

At various stages of his career at Phoenix New Times, Stephen Lemons has been known as "The Bird" and "The Feathered Bastard." And a lot of other things we can’t say on the radio.

After 13 years as a reporter and columnist, Lemons has packed up and left the area he called “Sand Land” to join the Southern Poverty Law Center in Alabama as an investigative reporter.

We caught up with Lemons as he was preparing the hit the road from the Southwest to the Southeast.
