Arizona Diamondbacks Introduce New Mascot

The Arizona Diamondbacks have introduced the Luchador as an official mascot of the team.

Last year the team introduced the Lucha Libre mask. The team said the response inspired the creation of the Luchador character which is modeled after Mexican wrestlers.

The team said Luchador possesses high-flying wrestling skills and a "good-guy" persona. Fans of long-time mascot, Baxter the Bobcat, should not worry. Baxter will continue in his role as team mascot as well.
