The question of whether Arizona is “in play” in next month’s presidential election has been a disputed one.

After all, the only Democratic White House nominee to win the state since 1952 is Bill Clinton. But a strong get-out-the-vote effort, in combination with a very non-traditional Republican in Donald Trump, has led Democrats to consider the state a toss-up.

And this week, some of Hillary Clinton’s strongest stand-ins are going to be in Arizona. Tomorrow, it’s Bernie Sanders. On Wednesday, Chelsea Clinton will be here. Then on Thursday, it’s First Lady Michelle Obama.

We speak with political analyst Chris Herstam about that.
