What's Behind A Bee's Buzz?

Why do bees buzz?
A considerable part of their day is spent buzzing in the quest for pollen. Although there are a couple of other categories of buzz, including when they’re searching for a mate, communicating with their bee buddies or or displaying aggression toward potential predators.
Avery Russell is a doctoral student in entomology at the University of Arizona. He and three colleagues studied sonication—also known as buzz pollination—and whether the bumble bees know how to find pollen and nectar via nature or nurture and if they can adapt to changing flowers.
