Experts Unravel Movie Museum Capers
We’ve all seen movies that include “capers” that involve a group getting together to steal a valuable jewel or painting or some other work of art. For example, "The Thomas Crown Affair"—the 1990s version with Pierce Brosnan—features the title character stealing a famous painting and the efforts to stop or catch him.
Thursday night, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art—or SMOCA—will feature the version that stars Brosnan. Its special twist is the real-time commentary offered by museum professionals on the film’s authenticity.
We learned more about the film’s authenticity from SMOCA’s Registrar Pat Evans and SMOCA Curator of Programming Peter Bugg.
