March 11, 2013

We are pleased to begin sharing the conversations from StoryCorps Phoenix, the project that records the stories from everyday people.

The StoryCorps Mobile Booth is parked at the Phoenix Art Museum and has been very busy. We’ll air a conversation each Monday on KJZZ as part of the Phoenix visit.

Today, we hear a conversation with Fernanda Philbrick and her sister, Roberta Santos. Fernanda and her sister lived in Brazil before she immigrated to the United States. Fernanda moved from Rio de Janeiro to North Dakota to get a college degree, leaving her family behind, including her sick father and younger sister. And they came to StoryCorps Phoneix to talk about their experience.
