A recent piece in the Arizona Republic attempted to explore why the state’s Democratic Party struggled so much statewide—especially considering the recent slate of candidates has been widely respected.

So what is the current condition of the party, and what changes are needed and possible?

Terry Goddard is former Attorney General and Reginald Bolding Jr. is a state representative in District 27, which includes parts of Phoenix, Guadalupe and Laveen .
