Excessive Heat Expected In Phoenix Area This Week

High temperatures in the Phoenix area in May stayed mostly in the upper 80s and lower 90s. That was fun while it lasted.

However, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Highs each of those days are expected to exceed 110 degrees. We may even get up to 115.

To learn more about what’s going on, we spoke with Randy Cerveny, professor of geographical sciences at Arizona State University. He also directs the university’s meteorology program.
