Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City

Big cities across the United States are working hard to eliminate homelessness, in part by increasing low-income housing availability, but progress has been slow.

Some of the struggles are being exacerbated by the number of evictions around the country. Harvard Associate Professor Matthew Desmond met families who were evicted, saw others being evicted and studied the data. All of that is part of his new book, "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City."
