Poll: Donald Trump, Ben Carson Tied Among Arizona GOP Voters
A new Rocky Mountain poll shows Donald Trump and Ben Carson in a virtual tie among Arizona’s Republican voters. Earl De Berge of the Behavior Research Center said Carson is pulling 23-percent support, while Trump is slightly behind at 21-percent.
“I think they’re the best known and that’s, that’s the reason that their numbers are as strong as they are," De Berge said. "I think they have their own popularity, Trump because he’s so aggressive and Ben Carson for almost the opposite reason that he seems so calm and orderly in his presentation."
But, he said the survey was conducted before questions arose about Carson’s claims he was a violent teenager.
The poll found Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush still in the game, but Trump fares poorly among Republican Latinos.
De Berge said he expects the numbers to change following future debates.
