As Center For Arizona Policy Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Critics Concerned About Capitol Influence

Earlier this week, the Center for Arizona Policy marked its 20th anniversary.

The center’s mission statement focuses on affirming and protecting religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and strengthening marriages and families. It has had significant influence at the State Capitol — especially among those labeled as conservatives.

Critics have said the center has too much influence and pushes for legislation that hurts the perception of Arizona.

We spoke to the organization’s president, Cathi Herrod.

Some observers have expressed concerns about how much influence certain lobbyists and groups have at the State Capitol.
