The Phoenix City Council is scheduled to pick a new city manager at its meeting later on Wednesday. David Cavazos resigned the position in October.
The council is considering acting city manager Ed Zuercher or Deputy City Manager Rick Naimark. Also being considered are Oakland City Administrator Deanna Santana and former Cincinnati City Manager Milton Dohoney Jr. Whoever gets the job will be dealing with a potential budget deficit in the coming fiscal year of $26 million to $52 million.
