Temperatures will fall to more seasonal levels this weekend. Modest rain chances will continue through Saturday before clearing out of the area on Sunday.

The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures in the Phoenix area will hover in the low 80s or high 70s through this weekend. There's also a chance of rain in the area through Saturday.

"Obviously we'll take anything we can get now, it's been over two months now since we've gotten any rain for a large portion of the state, so it is certainly welcome," said NWS meteorologist Mark O’Malley.

But O'Malley said any rain from the system probably won’t be more than a tenth of an inch. At Sky Harbor Airport on Thursday morning, 0.06 of an inch of rain was recorded, which NWS said is the first measurable rainfall since Sept. 12.

"We have a large amount of moisture moving through, but it’s being strung out over the mountains of California, so we’re just kind of with the leftovers here in Arizona," O'Malley said.

O’Malley expects several days of dry conditions after these clouds move out. He said the next chance for rainfall probably won’t come until after Thanksgiving.
