Lawmakers in Washington are barreling toward a federal shutdown Wednesday morning as competing plans in the House and the Senate are moving forward simultaneously.

If they can’t come to an agreement before Saturday, Sept. 30, we will — once again — be in the midst of a government shutdown.

That means there will be millions of federal workers going without pay, disruptions to air travel, safety net services could be cut off, and there’s of course the political fallout for the lawmakers who voters decide to blame.

And that’s not to mention the broader economic implications of a shutdown.

Economist Jim Rounds, president of Rounds Consulting Group, joined The Show to tell us more about how that could play out here in Arizona.
