The public can provide input for speed limits of an I-17 segment.

ADOT has launched a survey asking the public for its input on speed limits on a segment of Interstate 17. The survey will be used to produce a study.

The survey covers the segment from the Interstate 10/I-17 interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport north to Peoria Avenue. Currently, the speed limit is 55 miles per hour along the stretch.

The study follows the passage of a new Arizona law calling for a minimum speed limit of 65 miles per hour on interstates located in counties with populations of at least 3 million people. However, the law also allows lower speed limits can be set under certain conditions.

The survey closes Sept. 30, and the study is expected to be completed in mid-October.
