New boundaries in the five Maricopa County Board of Supervisors districts and the city of Surprise mean 260,000 residents are set to get new voter registration cards.

The cards are expected to be landing in mailboxes in the coming week and will look just like the old cards.

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer says the move will also help tighten voter rolls.

"So every time we do a mailing, if it goes out and is returned undeliverable or somebody checks a box saying this person no longer lives here, then we can begin that national voter registration act inactive process," Richer says.

Richer says that voters can go to beballotready.vote to check their registration information.
