At the end of May, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of an Idaho couple that had tried to build a house on a parcel of land they had purchased.  The construction was halted by the EPA, which cited waterway contamination as a result of the construction.

The Court ruling was unanimous — stripping the EPA of the wide-reaching regulatory control offered by the 1972 Clean Water Act. The ruling has been applauded by business communities and champions of property rights — including Arizona’s ranching industry, which relies heavily on water management.

Jeffrey Eisenberg is the policy director for the Arizona Cattle Growers Association. He joined The Show following the ruling to discuss how it will impact the state’s ranchers.
