Travelers line up to rebook canceled flights at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022.
Large parts of the country have been hit hard by winter storms over the holiday weekend. That has led to airline disruptions nationwide.
It was a warm and sunny Christmas in Phoenix, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s.
But winter weather in other parts of the country had a cascading effect that reached Sky Harbor airport.
Over 300 flights in and out of Phoenix were delayed on Christmas Day, and 162 others were canceled.
Nationwide, more than 20,000 flights were delayed or canceled over the weekend, and the disruptions continued on Monday.
Although travelers on Arizona’s highways can expect clear weather for the next couple of days, a new round of storms is expected by midweek.
