Losing Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has sued the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the county recorder over access to public records related to the general election on Nov. 8.
The lawsuit alleges that 118 of the 223 voting locations in Maricopa County experienced problems with printers. The county has previously said that number was 70 centers.
Lake’s attorney filed the first public records request on Nov. 15. In this lawsuit, Lake’s attorney Timothy La Sota says state law requires those records to be promptly produced.
Since the word promptly depends on context, La Sota argued those records should have been provided before the county certifies its canvas of ballots. That canvas was scheduled for Monday.
Last week, Lake announced her plans to sue on the War Room podcast produced by Steve Bannon, who was a strategist for former President Donald Trump.
