ADOT to lay out plans for electric vehicle charging stations on AZ freeways
Analysts say that electric vehicles will play an important role in battling climate change, and building new infrastructure will be critical to keep them moving.
As more electric cars take the road, the state will need more charging stations.
On Wednesday, the Arizona Department of Transportation will outline its plan to build a network of them.
The meeting at GateWay Community College is the last in a series of similar sessions.
ADOT plans to build several charging stations along the state’s freeways.
“As more and more electric vehicles are coming on line, there also is a necessity for more charging infrastructure both on the alternative fuel corridors, but also in local communities,” said Diane Brown of the Arizona Public Interest Research Group.
The state is receiving federal funding for the project from the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill.
