A group called Faiths United to Save Democracy is looking to recruit 2,000 clergy members in a handful of states, including Arizona, to "promote peaceful and safe elections for all voters."
In Arizona, that means poll chaplains will be working in Maricopa and Pima counties as well as in the Cochise County city of Sierra Vista.
Warren Stewart Sr. is the senior pastor of the First Institutional Baptist Church in Phoenix and says the effort has recruited more than 50 faith leaders in Arizona, and that he’s hoping for more.
The Show spoke with him and asked what the mission is for this group.
