U.S. disaster aid available for those hit by storm on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community

President Joe Biden has formally declared a destructive monsoon storm from July a major disaster for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
The U.S. Small Business Administration says time is running out for those affected to seek a federal disaster loan to rebuild.
Federal disaster loans for businesses and private nonprofits are worth up to $2 million. Homeowners can receive as much as $200,000 to repair damage caused by a late-July monsoon storm in the East Valley.
O’odham Action News reported that roughly 200 homes spanning about 4 square miles were damaged or destroyed by severe wind gusts.
The Small Business Administration recently closed a field center located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
But there are still weeks left until the Nov. 1 deadline to apply for a federal disaster loan at disasterassistance.gov.
