Maricopa County is creating an election command center dedicated to protecting the integrity of elections.

The team will protect nearly 2.5 million of voters from misinformation.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors appointed six elected officials to oversee the election in Maricopa County. The goal is to be a centralized hub for all election information and provide responses to misinformation during and after the election. The center will also focus on educating the county’s nearly 2.5 voters about registration and other deadlines.

The center was created after repeated audits of the 2020 election. Those audits have shown no problems despite some refusing to accept that Joe Biden beat Donald Trump to win the presidency in 2020. 

The center plans to host briefings before the 2022 midterm election and provide updates to the public.
