A speaker scheduled to talk at Arizona State University on Sept. 2 is drawing a good amount of controversy to campus.

College Republicans United, a splinter group, has invited Jared Taylor to speak; Taylor is a self-proclaimed “race realist,” who espouses racist views. The speech he's set to give is titled, “If we do nothing: A defense of white identity politics.”

A number of groups at ASU have called for the university to block Taylor’s speech. In a separate statement, College Republicans at ASU, a different and officially ASU-recognized club, also strongly condemned the event with Taylor.

The Show reached out to College Republicans United for a comment on their event; they declined to talk to us. But in a tweet, the group said, “CRU hosts controversial speakers for dialogue and debate. This is what Universities used to do before the hard left sjws took it over.”

To talk more about this, The Show spoke with Isaac Humrich, president of College Republicans at ASU and a sophomore at the university.

The conversation started by talking about his group’s concerns with the event.
