President Joe Biden said Aug. 24 he would take executive action to wipe out massive amounts of federal student loan debt.

Borrowers who are making less than $125,000 a year would get up to $10,000 of their debt forgiven, while Pell Grant recipients would see that figure double to up to $20,000.

Supporters of the idea had been calling on Biden to eliminate the student loan debt entirely, while opponents are saying that even this step is too much, that it sends the wrong message and could further increase inflation.

The Show spoke with Cesar Aguilar, executive director of the Arizona Students' Association, to get his perspective on the president's proposed action.
