The Navajo Nation has reported nearly 400 new COVID-19 infections since July 16, along with two deaths during that time. In addition, the Navajo Department of Health has issued a health advisory notice for 58 communities that are identified as having uncontrolled spread of COVID-19.

While case numbers have been on the rise, they’re nowhere near where they were in the spring of 2020, when the Navajo Nation had the highest per-capita infection rate in the country.
