Labor and supply chain issues lead to restaurants closing temporarily

Arizona’s restaurant industry continues to face struggles as some have temporarily closed or reduced hours over the summer.

Supply chain issues, food prices and labor shortages continue to plague businesses.

It’s at a rate Arizona Restaurant Association President Steve Chucri has not seen in his 20 years in the business.

“What we are trying to do is keep our restaurants operational, keep the standard of quality there, try to maintain and navigate through supply chain issues and labor issues to the best of our ability and do what we do best and that is serve our customers," Chucri said.

Chucri added the trend is not a sign of desperation and instead is a response to market demand.
