Salt River Project delivered a record amount of energy to customers in the Phoenix area on Monday.

According to a press release, the utility delivered a peak amount of 7,620. That is enough to power more than 1.7 million homes. 

SRP said the demand was due to an increase of high and low temperatures and an increase in customers. 

The last record was set in July 2020.
