As the world struggles to address another mass shooting at an elementary school, some Arizonans have been working nonstop for years to reform gun laws in a state and country generally resistant to such efforts.

Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, the victim herself of a shooting in 2011, began her own gun control lobby after the Sandy Hook shooting.

The Show spoke with longtime Tucson journalist Jim Nintzel to discuss what has — and has not — been achieved, and what the role of Giffords’ husband, U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, is in all this.
